Group Playtime: How We Keep It Pawsitive!

Two happy dogs standing close together on a blue platform outdoors.

Introducing New Friends

We evaluate each dog for a full day prior to their first boarding or daycare visit.

Our experienced senior staff observe each new friend's behavior, energy level, & temperament to determine which dog friend group they'll vibe best with (laid-back & calm buddies, active & energetic play pals, or whatever suits their mood that day!).

And, because these traits often evolve over time, we never stop watching & learning to make sure your buddy is having as much fun as possible as their needs change.

Supervising Socialization

We keep our eyes & ears open and our dog-to-staff ratio low so each playgroup we hold runs as smoothly as possible.

If a pack member is having a little TOO much fun (playing too rough, causing a ruckus), we'll give them a "time out" to let them settle down before returning to group. Dogs who get easily overstimulated or nervous in a larger group are encouraged to sign up for additional mini play sessions - lean about other playtime options here.

With a ratio of 10 dogs (or less) to kennel team member in each playgroup, problem behaviors can be identified & addressed quickly, messes cleaned as they occur for a more sanitary activity space, and there’s still time to take pics of our adorable guests  :)

Embracing Naptime

We know that a tired dog may be a happy dog, but an over-tired dog can get cranky & overwhelmed (parents, sound familiar?).

By keeping a consistent daily schedule that alternates socialization & play with rest periods & downtime, we provide the structure & routine dogs thrive on so they can have a blast each time they visit!

Of course, while all dogs need proper rest to play their best, we know there are some who just can't get enough fun. For dogs with extra zoomies to burn, we always recommend signing up for additional one-on-one playtime or group play sessions to ensure they're getting the activity they need to keep them smiling.
