The Cat Cottage at Passage East

Welcome to The Purrfect Feline Retreat!

Brought to you by the pet care experts at Passage East, The Cat Cottage is a unique vacation destination designed just for the special feline(s) in your life. Located on a separate property next door to the kennel, our cozy kitty retreat provides a calm, quiet environment for our guests to enjoy.

The Cat Cottage Experience

We believe cat boarding should feel less like a service and more like a staycation. That’s why everything is included in your cat’s stay—there’s no need to choose add-ons just to be sure they’re comfortable, engaged, and well cared for. Enrichment, treats, playtime, and one-on-one attention are all part of the experience, so your cat will want for nothing while they’re with us.

Every cat who stays with us is a little different (as they should be), which is why we take a cat-led approach to their time here. We start with everything you share about their personality, preferences, and routines, then let your cat take the lead from there.

For the explorers and adventurers, the day might include chasing toys, climbing and surveying their surroundings, or relaxing in the catio with a front-row seat to the outside world. For the quieter souls, we keep things calm and cozy—gentle pets, brushing, treat time, and quiet companionship, always on their terms.

Some cats want to play, some want to lounge, and some just want a safe space to observe it all—and we’re here for all of it. Our goal is simple: to make each cat feel comfortable, understood, and completely at home (even when they’re not).

Who Let The Cats Out? We Did!

The Catio

For a truly one-of-a-kind boarding experience, we're thrilled to introduce The Catio, a screened-in outdoor space for your feline pal to soak up some sun,  birdwatch, & get in touch with their inner panther - without the dangers that come with wildcat life!

The Catio has a clear ceiling, double-layered wire fencing, and is divided into 4 different sections, allowing multiple cats or cat siblings to enjoy the fresh air while still separated from one another. Overlooking a beautiful garden with ample bird feeders, it's the perfect environment to attract a variety of wildlife for your cat's viewing pleasure

And, while previously a seasonal amenity, we've added removable Plexiglas paneling & a heat lamp to keep the space open year-round.

FAQ's and important information

What Should I Bring?

What Should I Bring?

What Should I Bring?

Beyond your adorable cat, we don’t require you to bring much at all. We do recommend packing their usual food (both wet and dry), especially for cats who may be a bit particular about their meals.

You’re also welcome to bring favorite treats, a bed, or toys from home for added comfort—but if you prefer to travel light, we’re fully stocked and happy to provide everything your cat needs.

What Do You Provide?

What Should I Bring?

Each cat is thoughtfully set up in their preferred enclosure with fresh bedding, food and water dishes, a litter box filled with World’s Best Cat Litter, and cardboard scratchers topped with complimentary catnip. We also have in-house dry and wet cat food available if needed.

Throughout their stay, cats enjoy access to a variety of treats, toys, and enrichment activities—all included and tailored to their individual preferences.

Medications & Health Needs

Dogs 😊 We are a canine-free space designed just for cats.

If you’re boarding a dog with us next door, we kindly ask that you either drop them off first or have them wait briefly in the car (weather permitting) while you check in at the Cat Cottage.

You may leave personal litter boxes, litter, and dishes at home. If you'd like to provide these items for a specific reason, please let us know.

Medications & Health Needs

We’re able to administer most oral and topical medications, depending on your cat’s comfort level with handling. For cats requiring multiple or more complex medications throughout the day, we may recommend veterinary boarding to ensure they receive the best possible care.

Please share any medical conditions or health concerns with our team in advance of your cat’s stay. While we love caring for cats of all kinds, we are not veterinary professionals, and your cat’s health and safety will always guide our recommendations.

Health & Safety Requirements

Vaccinations
All cats must be up to date on rabies and feline distemper (FVRCP) vaccines. If your cat cannot be vaccinated, a note from your veterinarian is required.

Senior Cats
Cats aged 10 and older must have a recent veterinary exam on file to help rule out underlying conditions that could surface during their stay. While we do everything we can to create a calm, low-stress environment, time away from home can sometimes be challenging.

We adore our senior guests and take their care seriously—this requirement helps ensure their stay is as safe and comfortable as possible.

Accommodations

Health & Safety Requirements

Health & Safety Requirements

We offer three types of accommodations for our distinguished guests. Our Townhouses are perfect for single cats, while our Penthouses and Skyscrapers provide extra space for two feline family members to stay together comfortably.

Of course, they won’t spend all their time there. Throughout the day, each guest has multiple opportunities to explore the Cat Cottage, enjoy time in the catio, or simply curl up for some one-on-one attention (laps included).

For everyone’s safety—and because cat disagreements are no fun for anyone—social time is reserved for cats from the same family.
